2024: Implementation of the MTS Link ecosystem of online communications and collaboration

On April 27, 2024, Softline Group of Companies (PJSC Softline) announced that it had helped the V. V. Mayakovsky Central City Public Library to switch to the Russian ecosystem of online communications and MTS Link joint work as part of the import substitution program. Softline specialists installed and configured the platform, as well as established its work with other applications.

As reported, the Central City Public Library named after V.V. Mayakovsky ("Mayakovka") is a large information, educational and cultural center. She adheres to the course of innovative development, regularly applies various approaches and technologies. Being the state library of St. Petersburg, Mayakovka implements a modernization program. For example, the territory already has a "smart" wardrobe with a facial recognition system, a multimedia hall for lectures, and climatic systems are installed.

One of the areas under the modernization program is import substitution. Mayakovka is gradually transferring IT infrastructure to domestic sites. In this case, the library faced the task of switching to a Russian video conferencing system. Having studied the supplier market and talked with the specialists of the companies, Mayakovka decided to turn to Softline Group of Companies for help in implementing the project.

The preliminary stage of the project was the selection of the platform. During demo meetings, the Softline team presented to Mayakovka specialists several similar domestic solutions and offered to test them. The criteria on which the customer relied in the assessment were: the availability of marketing and involvement modules; possibility of dividing participants by rooms; Ease of use and intuitive interface high fault tolerance. Among other solutions, Mayakovka chose the MTS Link ecosystem to switch from foreign software.

The key stages in the work on the project were the installation and configuration of the solution on the customer's server by the architects of the Service Department of Softline Group of Companies. The specialists deployed MTS Link using the on-premium method. Next, they installed the necessary components and configured the system to company requirements. All work was carried out by Softline specialists, the task of Mayakovka was to timely provide the necessary resources. In addition to configuring the system itself, the Service Management team also configured its security to ensure the optimal level of data protection.

Upon completion of the configuration, Softline architects established the platform with other applications and infrastructure in general. To optimize the process of adaptation and to expand the possibilities of using the platform, MTS Link organized free training of personnel to work with the service.

As of April 2024, MTS Link services were launched into real operation. Mayakovka acquired 500 licenses. Thanks to free training organized by the vendor, Mayakovka employees quickly got used to it and began to use the system in full functionality.

Compared to commercial, organizing and conducting public procurement is always more difficult and longer. In this draft, the restrictions were set by the 44-FZ. Despite some difficulties in preparing, the process of installing the system itself went quickly. A team of IT architects of the Services Administration installed licenses and transferred library employees to an updated VKS system in just 4 days. The solution on which the customer left off fits his request well, so we are glad that we managed to agree on all the parameters.

It is worth noting that this project is not the first experience of Mayakovka's active cooperation with Softline Group of Companies. We constantly interact with the group of companies, turn to their specialists for advice on various tasks that are facing not only us, but also the entire corporation of public libraries in St. Petersburg. This close cooperation with business representatives allows us to achieve the necessary results as soon as possible.
