2025: Transformation of DevOps Practices
Consulting The company's direction Flant"" implemented a large-scale project to build DevOps a department and automate development processes for the apartment building management system Majordomo"" - the company's solutions. Phylosoftware"" The project covered standardization of CI/CD processes, infrastructure migration, and development team competencies. Flant announced this on September 22, 2025.
Filosfot turned to Express 42 with the task of increasing the expertise of DevOps practices and building a full-fledged department to prepare for business scaling. Major challenges included disparate approaches to CI/CD in teams, low levels of infrastructure automation, manual deployment processes, and lack of standardized monitoring practices.
Express 42 has implemented three interconnected projects. At the first stage, they analyzed existing development processes through interviews with developers, and studied the tools and release schemes used. The result was a detailed report with recommendations for improvements.
The second phase of the project included the introduction of DevOps practices, which created a mechanism for automated deployment of dynamic environments. In parallel, observation systems were introduced that allow you to quickly identify the causes of incidents and respond effectively to them.
A failure occurred during the migration, affecting system performance. In two weeks of joint diagnostics, experts revealed a floating error that manifested itself unstable in the new infrastructure. After troubleshooting, the migration was successful. The teams prepared a post-mortem with corrective measures for future projects.
The third phase included eight training sessions for a DevOps engineer on Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform topics, monitoring and logging with practical cases and accompanying work tasks.
After the completion of the projects, we built a transparent and coordinated work in development, introducing uniform approaches to DevOps, which dramatically accelerated the release of releases. The process of updating the product has become faster, and its work is noticeably more stable. At the same time, we managed to significantly reduce dependence on external experts: now our internal teams confidently manage pipelines and infrastructure on their own. This platform serves as the basis for scaling and further development, - said Maxim Vaneev, director of the IT infrastructure management department at Philosopher (part of the Zhelezno Group of Companies.) |
The project with the Filosfot company (part of the Zhelezno Group of Companies) has become a clear example of how important it is to approach DevOps transformation systematically. Instead of simply introducing technologies, we built a full-fledged development ecosystem and ensured the transfer of knowledge to internal teams. Already at the start, application downtime was reduced by 75% and reduced the annual cost of developing new functionality by 25%. This allowed not only to free up resources, but also to move from incident response to proactive product development. This approach turns the platform from a temporary solution into a sustainable basis for growth, - commented Artyom Geniev, head of the Express 42 business unit. |
As a result of the transformation of DevOps practices, the client received standardized CI/CD processes, an automated infrastructure with a high degree of observation and a development team prepared for growth. The time cost of scaling the infrastructure was reduced by 95%, which significantly reduced manual work and accelerated the expansion of the system.
