2025: Transition to PIX RPA

Gold mining company Polyus has completed the migration of software robots from UiPath to the domestic PIX RPA platform. The company has more than 100 business processes in the departments of finance, logistics, human resources, client service and others. PIX Robotics (Peaks Robotics) announced this on February 21, 2025.

In Polyus, the corporate multifunctional center (MPSC) is responsible for the implementation of service processes.

In 2021, Polyus created the RPA Competence Center and launched a robotization program based on the UiPath platform. The Competence Center provided a full RPA life cycle - from collecting ideas and describing processes to developing, testing, implementing and maintaining software robots, and analyzing their effectiveness. Robotization has become one of the key areas in improving productivity, operational efficiency and process optimization in the company.

After leaving the foreign platform market, the company faced the question of choosing a new RPA system. Polyus needed a promising domestic platform that meets the requirements for functionality and stability. The company saw the greatest potential in the PIX RPA platform and chose it to further develop robotization practice.

Polyus has followed the path of gradual and safe migration: to transfer processes only when the current capabilities of the platform meet the requirements of a single process. The import substitution project took a year and a half, and during it the company both transferred existing processes and launched new robots to PIX RPA, collaborated with the vendor to improve functionality, created its own libraries and modules. The openness of the platform for developers had a positive effect on the speed and effectiveness of the project.

In 2022, Russian platforms lagged significantly behind the leaders of the RPA market, and we understood that, being a large user, we could contribute to the development of one of these systems. So we made the decision to switch to PIX RPA. As of February 2025, the platform meets most requirements, and the migration of robots is complete. The Competence Center continues to develop new processes, introducing robots into almost all key areas of the company, "commented Alexey Fedorov, head of the RPA Polyus Competence Center.

Cost and risk reduction is an important measure of RPA performance. And most of the software robots in Polyus are involved in the areas of accounting and personnel management. The greatest effect of RPA is shown in the process of releasing activities in the ERP system based on incoming delivery documents. The software robot processes documents received by the EDO every few minutes, analyzes them, and then sends them to the accounting system.

However, the company robots and, at first glance, non-standard processes. One of these is the process of distributing parking spaces to employees. To increase the efficiency of parking, the Central Committee specialists have developed a software robot that daily determines among employees provided with parking spaces those who are soon going on vacation or business trip. Then the robot writes a letter to the owner of the parking space with a proposal to temporarily transfer its place to another employee. Thanks to the robotization of this process, the percentage of parking space use has increased, and more importantly, the level of employee loyalty to the company has increased.

In the future, the internal RPA Competence Center will continue to scale and popularize technology within the company so that business users themselves come with requests for robotization. The focus for 2025 is process automation with PIX RPA in construction and logistics. The company is also actively exploring the synergies between RPA and artificial intelligence so that robots can analyze data, predict trends and make more complex decisions.
