As TAdviser knew on February 24, 2012,Russian Railway affiliated enterprise -"The federal freight company" - will purchase licenses for software products of Microsoft for total amount more than 60 million rubles.
Products for a period of three years the company will acquire right to use according to the corporate program of licensing Microsoft Enterprise Agreement. It is intended for the organizations with number of computers over 250 which selected softwares of Microsoft as the corporate standard. Within the program the organization licenses basic products of corporation for all used PCs. Payment at the same time is made in the form of annual payments.
Among products which are licensed by "The federal freight company" - OS Windows Professional and Office Professional on 1220 jobs, server products - Windows Server SharePoint Server Exchange Server SQL Server a management system for IT service System Center and others.
Given software "daughter" to the Russian Railway purchases within one of stages of implementation of IT strategy for 2012-2014, told TAdviser in Digital Design company which developed this strategy together with Microsoft. "IT infrastructure "Of the federal freight company" will be multiplatform therefore in addition to products of Microsoft there will be also other purchases", - told TAdviser in Digital Design. How much in total implementation of this strategy will cost to cargo carrier, in the company preferred not to report.
Development of IT strategy of "daughter" by the Russian Railway was completed in the summer of 2012. According to representatives of Digital Design, it includes 47 projects within 9 strategic initiatives. The main attention till 2014. "The federal freight company" will give to control automation by transportations, contents and operation of the rolling stock and customer interaction.
In November, 2012 representatives of the company read plans to increase a share of the clients ordering the rolling stock through automated systems, and by a "paper" method, to 30%.
One more key direction is creation of a performance management system of the enterprise which will be implemented almost "from scratch".
New IT strategy was developed for support of plans of the company to occupy slightly less than a quarter in the general goods turnover on network of Russian Railways by 2015, and further to come for the IPO.
