2023: Sber's GigaChat rollout
The federal media "Gazeta.Ru" (part of the Rambler & Co media holding) began to use artificial intelligence from Sberbank for the prompt publication of content. The neural network model GigaChat helps journalists find suitable video materials for news articles in their own library of the online publication, Rambler & Co representatives said on October 26, 2023.
Thanks to the implementation of GigaChat for Business - GigaChat API, journalists do not need to search for videos manually: they write text, and AI immediately offers suitable options. This significantly saves time, simplifies the publishing process and, as a result, makes the news even more operational. On the day of 30 editors of Gazeta.Ru, about 500 pieces of content are published using a neural network.
According to Rambler & Co, Gazeta.Ru has a huge database of its own video content, which immerses readers in the context of an article, gives a certificate of events or personalities mentioned in the text . Artificial intelligence independently analyzes the meaning of the note and selects the relevant video automatically in less than 1 minute.
"Language models of neural networks are just beginning to realize the potential of the technology, but the result is already impressive. Of course, this is not about replacing journalists and writing news, at least in the coming years. Neural networks make it possible to facilitate some technological processes, which we actively use. Now there are several cases at work. GigaChat is able to automate routine video searches in our own library and free up editor time for more important information. This is not the first interaction with the Sberbank team, our cooperation has been going on for more than a year, replenished with new projects and accumulated positive experience, "said Vladimir Todorov, Director of Media Development at Rambler & Co. |
According to a survey of analysts at the Rambler & Co media holding in the spring of 2023, more than a third of Russians consider the use of artificial intelligence in the media a necessary and natural process, another 21% of respondents note that neural networks are the future of journalism.
