On November 5, 2014 the consulting company BearingPoint announced project completion of implementation of category management and process optimization of purchase planning for pilot materials of JSC KAMAZ.
Project Progress
The customer attracted consulting company BearingPoint to project implementation. The project team received tasks of the directions:
- optimization of an organization structure,
- creation of new business processes,
- performance management and adaptation of the existing IT solution.
During the project on pilot categories of components category strategies are developed and implemented, the simulation model of filling of warehouse stocks and management is developed by them. It reproduces process of the movement of materials on the basis of input data, calculating turnover and level of service for purchased materials, the target organization structure and processes of supply is developed and approved "KAMAZ", the solution on purchase planning in systems is adapted SAP SCM and ERP.
Rustam Shamsutdinov, the deputy CEO of JSC KAMAZ for purchases, noted: "Need for ensuring the maximum accuracy of planning of deliveries for achievement of required level of service of deliveries of Inventories (inventory items) for production was one of premises to start the project. During the project we managed to develop approach which will allow to increase accuracy of planning considerably. It in turn will give us the chance to constrain the prices and to try to obtain the best conditions of deliveries, and to considerably reduce volumes of illiquid assets and the low-wrapped Inventories which lead to freezing of working capital of the company".
Project Results
The category strategies for two pilot categories developed and approved by managing committee and created, the trained category commands became the main project deliverables. During the project the plan of implementation of category strategy is developed and further steps of joint work of a command are defined.
