3D - technologies increased quality of design in JSC Sibgiproshakht

The Sibgiproshakht design institute using the PSS engineering and consulting company switched to 3D models during the work on large projects. Specialists of PPS not only delivered software products of Autodesk and organized consultation within a pilot project, but also provided complex training of employees of the customer.

One of key activities of design institute JSC Sibgiproshakht is design of objects of mining and processing complexes of the coal industry. In particular, Sibgiproshakhty projects of the coal complex "Ingalinsky", "Listvyanskaya", "Barzassky", the Mohair coal mine (India), etc. were implemented.

Transition to wide use 3D - technologies began with a pilot project on creation of a 3D model of enrichment factory of Barzassky coal mine in 2010. During the project models of the main building, a products warehouse, the breed bunker (capacity – 180 tons), a magnetite warehouse, the building of an overload and transport pipeline galleries were developed. Also the power unit, pump stations, the boiler house, treatment facilities and a water intake were designed. The project was implemented within already developed long-term partnership of "Sibgiproshakht" and the PSS engineering and consulting company.

The task - assessment of prospects of use 3D - technologies for improving competitiveness of customer company in the market was set for a project team. Creation of 3D models in "Sibgiproshakht" is implemented based on software products of Autodesk. Based on the software package Autodesk Inventor design of enrichment factories and process systems is performed.

Use of Civil 3D in department of open works became one of the next stages on mastering of the 3D tools - modeling. In its framework projects of Horonorsky coal mine and Munaysky coal mine were executed. Projects are also interesting that consultations were performed far off: the virtual bridge between St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk was laid by means of Webex technology.

The general project deliverables became increase in quality of construction works as most expensive part of the project and increase in accuracy of the performed installation works. Also technology department mastered the powerful 3D tool - modeling of the equipment and configuration of technology objects. By estimates of specialists of department of open works, after the beginning of use in work 3D - technologies performance increased by 30%.

The software package AutoCAD Civil 3D is applied to design of the general plan and open mining operations. Use of Autodesk Navisworks for creation of conceptual 3D models of GOK is in the future planned.
