480 The plant of concrete goods uses technologies of virtualization in creation of the IT environment

The SoftExpert company completed the project of creation of IT infrastructure of JSC 480 Kombinat zhelezobetonnykh izdely on the Microsoft Windows Server platform using technologies of virtualization Hyper-V, the press service of the company reported on July 23, 2013.

Preparation of the project

IT infrastructure of KZhI did not conform to modern standards. There was no directory service, services were located on physical servers without use of technologies of virtualization. Periodic resets of servers and the arising malfunctions did not allow to use resources of the enterprise optimum.

The SoftExpert company carried out hardware upgrade of the customer and transition to virtual environment, unrolled a directory service and file servers on a technology platform of Microsoft.

Providing project

For ensuring fault tolerance and high availability put two physical servers into operation and deployed two domain controllers with replication of data. Centralized operation by an organization structure of the enterprise and the data security was ensured differentiation of access rights of users.

With implementation of the Active Directory of KZhI received several advantages:

• group politicians,
• the centralized installation of updates,
• organization of file storage, etc.

Labor costs on service of IT infrastructure are optimized. Implementation of virtualization allowed to increase efficiency of use of server capacities and to implement fault tolerance.

Works in the project

Works are performed by specialists of SoftExpert company according to technical specifications and terms of the contract. The detailed analysis of the existing IT infrastructure is carried out, recommendations about upgrade and optimal use of the existing equipment are made and transition to the system of virtualization Hyper-V with start and commissioning of new physical servers is performed.
