Rostelecom began creation of a virtual private network (Virtual Private Network, VPN) for VGTRK, the largest media corporation of Russia. Rostelecom acquired the right to carrying out these works according to the results of the tender held in 2012.
According to the project first of all Rostelecom will organize IP VPN for VGTRK with the central point in Moscow (capacity - 30 Mbps) connected to the cities: Belgorod, Saransk, Salekhard, Tambov, Krasnodar, Smolensk. Capacity of each channel to these cities – 10 Mbps.
This project of Rostelecom became the next step of development of corporate telecommunication infrastructure of VGTRK. Thanks to this implementation the data network of VGTRK considerably extended at the federal level. Further the network will extend in process of connection of new points of the company.
The VPN network will be used by VGTRK for ensuring stable work of corporate IT systems and transfer of traditional types of traffic.
