Storage systems are used in VGTRK for storage and ensuring multidisciplinary access to media content, databases of corporate information systems and to the mail systems of businesskpolzovatel. The systems of virtualization are actively applied that also imposes the specifics. As the head of department of network and server technologies of Itkdirektion of Development department of digital technologies Evgeny Kukushkin noted, it is necessary to deal with different information systems which use different protocols and profiles of data access. At the same time it is necessary to provide management of all data warehouses, minimizing quantity of points of entry and as far as possible avoiding emergence a tekhnozooparka from a set of systems, at each of which the features in administration and maintenance. And DWH should conform to all performance requirements and reliability even in the conditions of peak loads. In case of the state information occasions, emergence of hot news plots, carrying out popular internetktranslyation load of systems can increase even not many times, and by orders[1].
Storage systems of the corporate level are applied in VGTRK more than ten years. The equipment of different vendors was used. At the same time basic functions on replication of data and creation of failsafe solutions were provided. But there was a task of systems management ordering, and over time requirements to scaling, availability and continuity of services significantly grew. It was in addition necessary to provide balancing and redistribution of loading and resources. Thus, it was necessary to construct the infrastructure of a private cloud on storage and data processing working in mode 365×24×7.
The cluster solution of Netapp company on the Clustered Data ONTAPCM platform became a basis of such system. It was selected from a result of the careful analysis of all proposals of the suppliers of DWH presented at the Russian market. The considerable role in the choice as Evgeny Kukushkin emphasized, was played also that in VGTRK were already used by DWH of development of Netapp, and quite progressive tense.
Project works passed in five stages:
- installation of two clusters on the basis of FAS3240 systems on one of technology platforms of VGTRK;
- data transfer and services on new infrastructure;
- adding of new protocols and licenses;
- expansion of clusters at the expense of the released equipment using regular means of virtualization;
- further expansion of clusters new resources (disk arrays, controllers).
On the near future it is planned to implement the scheme of replication between geographically spaced clusters for creation of reserve platforms that it is designed to increase the level of protection of functioning of the main services and data with which they operate. Already now on the reserve platform FAS3210 system is unrolled, and further the full-fledged reserve cluster will be created there. In process of technical and physical obsolenscence of FAS3000 system will be replaced with new complexes of an eight-thousand series. At the same time on both platforms of a system will be united in uniform cloud infrastructure for the purpose of ensuring disaster tolerance and scalability.
