On January 28, 2014 AMT Group announced project completion of creation of the engineering systems for the supercomputer of the All-Russian Research Institute of Automatic Equipment (ARRIAE) of N.L. Dukhov.
Project Tasks
The supercomputer - the necessary tool for big group of theorists of the Center of basic and application studies created in VNIIA for carrying out the analysis of the latest developments in physics? in terms of their use at the solution of strategic tasks of Rosatom State Corporation, ensuring close cooperation of industry science with institutes of RAS, the state and national scientific centers. The VNIIA supercomputer is used also for modeling of operation of the unique equipment created by VNIIA on the basis of neutron technologies for the benefit of the oil and gas industry, metallurgy, medicine, etc.
Project Progress
AMT Group began project development with spring of 2013. A task - in creation of life support systems of DPC for the high-performance computing system with increased requirements to the air conditioning system (ACS) as specific heat release from one rack made not less than 25 kW. In addition, architectural and construction features of the premises of DPC required the non-standard design approach for ensuring necessary level of energy efficiency of the solution.
Group of engineers of AMT Group in close cooperation with leading specialists, developers, designers, and services of operation VNIIA in time less than a month developed and protected the complete technical solution based on use of the intra line precision conditioners working at a vapor-compression cycle. The system of "sealing" of a cold corridor for ensuring control over air flows and optimization of giving of a conditioned air is used. The possibility of the general control of parameters of climate indoors, operation of conditioners and the UPS from the single console of management is implemented.
Calculation showed: use of the offered configuration of specialized industrial equipment of hard currency, no break power supply system (SBEP) and other engineering systems in combination with settlement architectural configuration of telecommunication equipment cabinets of the supercomputer, allows to solve assigned tasks and to optimize a ratio "terms-budgets-reliability".
Design, installation and commissioning of life support systems were carried out by engineers of AMT Group then specialists of VNIIA together with colleagues from other Rosatom State Corporation organizations quickly assembled the supercomputer equipment in telecommunication racks.
In the mode of real loading carried out acceptance tests during which the supercomputer and a complex of the engineering systems worked in the "fighting" mode 72 hours. Tests validated project calculations, architectural and technical and technology base as single complete solution.
Project Results
"Based on the achieved result, we can say that design and deployment of the engineering systems for supercomputers on this example of VNIIA allows to leave from a stereotype of three "Д" (Expensively - Long Destructively), - Alexander Goltsov, the CEO of AMT Group noted. – Technically difficult project can be implemented practically on any platform, and even on the platform which is specially not adapted for these tasks without global change of architecture of the premises".
