The Altai State University completed upgrade of a publishing complex

On March 10, 2015 it became known of project completion of upgrade of a publishing polygraphic complex of the Altai state university on the platform of the equipment Xerox. The contractor in the Galex Scientific and Technological Center project.

Project Tasks

Need of upgrade of printing house arose in connection with mismatch of the used equipment to requirements of university to speed and printing quality of training materials on the basis of modern standards of education:

• the edition of educational and scientific literature by the principle "Printings on demand",
• operational making changes in training materials
• updating of materials under each specific rate,
• timely providing students and teachers with books and high-quality scientific materials.

As the partner for project implementation elected "Galex scientific and technological center".

Set the task to pick up the equipment for solving of tasks for specialists of the company:

• production of books in a soft cover with a full-color cover and with full-color inserts in the book block (in a year about 70 books on 100 copies are printed);
• production of magazines in a soft cover with full-color covers and with full-color inserts in the journal block;
• production of methodical materials in the form of brochures of A5 and A4 format;
• release of a representative printed material.

After the detailed analysis of printing infrastructure and printing processes in printing house of the university, specialists of "STC of Galex" proposed the step-by-step solution of assigned tasks.

Project Progress

Within the first stage the digital machine Xerox D110 with a high capacity tray on 4000 sheets A4 and a professional finisher-bukletmeykerom of LPF D5 with C/Z a folding is installed. Specialists of Galex completed printing house with a computer hardware for prepress of publications that allowed to make work of editors, proofreaders, maker-ups, designers more convenient and operational.

The second stage executes delivery and installation:

• the digital full-color machine Xerox Colour C75 Press with the feeder of high-capacity paper, with one tray for paper of SRA3 format on 2000 sheets and a professional finisher-bukletmeykerom of LPF D5;

• The Xerox D110 MFP with a high-capacity tray on 4000 sheets A4, the high-capacity stacker on 5000 sheets and the additional cart for the stacker;

• The Xerox ColorQube 9303 MFP with a multi-purpose finisher stitcher (HVF);
• the thermoglue machine Horizon BQ-270V with the system of removal of vapors of glue;
• the guillotine paper cutting machine IDEAL 7260 with side platforms.

Project Results

With project completion the university received the modern digital complex capable to solve a broad spectrum of publishing tasks.

"Repeatedly analyzed versions of offers taking into account all parts allowed to create an optimal production line of the equipment of Xerox which fully considered our wishes. And, despite the burst financial and economic crisis, the Galex company managed to implement the obligations for delivery, installation, debugging and start of all equipment in the stipulated terms. In full were also executed by firm of an action for personnel training – the staff of printing house to whom the equipment is transferred for operation", - Valery Moses, the director of publishing house of the Altai state university noted.
