In the middle of September, 2019 the CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos announced about 100,000 electrovans of production of Rivian company purchase. Transport is purchased for delivery of orders worldwide.

Amazon delivers up to 10 billion goods a year, using up to 30,000 transport sredst, except for service of United Parcel Service and U.S. Postal Service. The company began to use the first Rivian electrovans, and all transport under the agreement will be purchased for several years.

The senior vice president of Amazon Dave Clark (Dave Clark) noted that it is the largest order on delivery of electric vehicles in the history.

The startup of Rivian was founded in 2009 and in September the 2019th only there begins serial production of vans. Amazon — one of the largest investors of Rivian who enclosed in development of a startup of $700 million; the Ford Motor carmaker acted as one more investor of the company. The first electric vehicles Rivian, the R1T pickup and the R1S crossover, were provided in November, 2018, and their sales will begin in 2020.

Bezos announced that decided to pass Amazon to electrovans within an initiative of fight against climate changes and decrease in level of harmful vyboros into the atmosphere. By 2024 the company expects to receive 80% of energy from renewable sources, i.e. to twice reduce consumption of oil products. By 2030 it should bring the level of emissions to zero. Experts consider that the similar unprecedented statement from one of the largest companies of the world is potentially capable to change alignment of forces in the power industry.

Besides, Amazon will offer $100 million the ecological organization The Nature Conservancy for creation of Right Now Climate Fund which will be engaged in recovery and protection of the forests, wetlands and peat bogs worldwide.[1]
