On May 27, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation announced a tender for the development of a predictive interception and interruption of unmanned aircraft (BVS) flights. The project was called "Antidron," and the initial contract price is 897.32 million rubles.
We are talking about the creation of a complex that can intercept drones based on an analysis of the air situation in the area of the protected facility. After such a drone is detected, the system must interrupt its flight. In accordance with the terms of reference, it is necessary to provide the possibility of suppression of aircraft aircraft with take-off weight up to 50 kg, moving at a speed of up to 200 km/h.
Within the framework of the project, the contractor will have to create a module for controlling the means of the predictive interception and interruption of drone flight, a circular radar station, a radar station for tracking and guidance of BVS interceptors. In addition, radio monitoring stations should be developed, as well as directed interference to control and navigation channels. For BVS interceptors with thermal imaging systems of final guidance, special ground launchers will have to be designed.
It is noted that the Antidron system is designed to cover objects (designated sites) from the influence of different types of drones that pose a threat to the safety of the population, important ground facilities and aircraft flights. The complex should effectively counteract aircraft and copter-type drones. All-round radar with an integrated target recognition system shall provide a detection range of micro-BVS with a size of 30 × 30 cm of at least 6 km and a detection range of mini-BVS with dimensions of at least 2 × 0.5 m of at least 12 km. Work on the contract must be completed by December 1, 2026.[1]
