Ariston Thermo Group (FortiGate)

The decision on updating of an information system of security in Ariston Thermo Group was made proceeding from the need for bigger flexibility, performance and centralized operation. As the firewall the company gave preference to devices Fortinet FortiGate- 620B, considering also competitive products Cisco, Juniper and Palo Alto Networks. This choice was made because of much wider feature set of security, virtualizations and flexibility of setup. For protection of e-mail Ariston Thermo selected FortiMail-400B devices because of their excellent functions of an antispam and the detailed configured reporting.

"The virtualized environment offered Fortinet allowed us to simplify considerably the infrastructure necessary for protection of our network. Fortinet devices also simplified our system of search in logs that allowed to reduce time necessary for request processing and developed into reduction of number of calls to a support service".

To provide to all branches the centralized Internet access, in Ariston Thermo Group the consolidated architecture of access to network with the uniform centralized input and output point at head office in Fabriano, Italy was implemented. For defense of perimeter of network in a cluster the FortiGate-620B devices guaranteeing fault tolerance and providing wide functionality of network security are installed. Thanks to virtualization it was succeeded to implement the necessary scheme of routing for the centralized Internet access for all European branches. Also, within project implementation, Ariston Thermo made the decision on implementation of FortiGate-111C devices in Vietnam and India for security of local local networks, including for defense of perimeter of network, warning of invasions (IPS), control of applications, antivirus protection and web filtering.

On the second project stage, for protection of corporate e-mail, in Ariston Thermo Group the cluster on the basis of FortiMail-400B was unrolled. The solution provides protection and filtering of mail traffic across the whole Europe, in Russia and Vietnam, performing processing of web and mobile traffic. Daily devices process over 75 thousand e-mail messages, helping to provide the centralized Internet access, to standardize processes and to increase reliability of a system in general.
