The project of upgrade of the virtualized IT infrastructure for Beeline in Armenia

The Jet Infosystems company constructed in 2015 for Beeline in Armenia the failsafe virtualized IT infrastructure and transferred to it the majority of mission-and business-critical of applications of the operator: systems of tariffing of subscribers, payment acceptance, corporate reporting, etc. As a result performance of applications increased on average by 3 times, more than by 10 times the occupied server space decreased and energy consumption decreased. The new architecture allowed to reduce costs on licenses of the server software and on support, it is essential to simplify operation, to cardinally reduce time of planned stops of business applications and practically to exclude the probability of emergency situations.

This project – continuation of our long-term cooperation with Jet Infosystems company regarding implementation of technical solutions and their support. Planned inspection of IT infrastructure revealed that traditional, 'point' replacement its separate a component will not be able to meet all requirements of business – full upgrade is necessary. The new architecture allows us to transform the computer system in only a few hours, for example, to select resources under new services for subscribers. Upgrade affected about 70% of hardware solutions of SPARC infrastructure in DPC of telecom operator: server park, storage system and backup, equipment of the storage area network.

Migration of applications and databases is carried out by the Physical-to-Virtual (P2V) method to strictly taken away periods of time, mainly at night, and had no negative impact on work of telecom operator.

By means of Dynamic Tiering technology multilevel data storage on disks of different performance is implemented – such approach gives an optimal ratio of cost of storage and access rate to information. For the high-loaded systems the dynamic multilevel pool in which "hotter" data units it is transparent for the application automatically is used migrate on SSD disks.

We took an obsolete equipment which was a source of high risks for business continuity out of service. Instead of it the telecom operator received the modern hardware platform of the uniform standard providing the high level of fault tolerance, performance and scalability of IT services.
