In June, 2011 the project of creation of a corporate information system of management of investment and construction projects (ISUP) of Auchan LLC is complete. Increase in effective management of investment and construction projects of the company became the purpose of creation and implementation of ISUP in Auchan LLC.

The platform for creation of a system became software of Oracle Primavera and software of PM.contract, implemented by forces of specialists of PMSOFT Group.

The AUCHAN group is the retail network of retail founded in France in 1961. Today AUCHAN - one of the largest world retailers having 1254 shops under different trademarks in 12 countries of the world. In Russia Auchan LLC began the activity in 2002 and today it is provided by 29 hypermarkets Auchan, 15 supermarkets of Auchan City, three Auchan Garden shops and two shops RADUGA.

For opening of new shops Auchan LLC uses leased premises and performs construction of own, new objects. Specifics of projects of Auchan LLC such is that on the area of new objects shops of different concepts in this connection, investments into the project are redistributed afterwards according to the occupied spaces can be placed further.

The decision of company management on need of implementation of a project management information system was caused by growth of number of the projects connected with construction new and reconstruction of the existing floor spaces. As key premises of the project it is possible to select:

  • the need for the instrument of the centralized tracking of terms of execution of works,
  • need of obtaining the consolidated analytical information on implementation of investment and construction projects and drawing up perspective plans on project implementation on the set period,
  • requirements of effective drawing up budgets and tracking of their execution,
  • carrying out analysis of project deadlines,
  • investments and redistributions of investments,
  • an opportunity to see a picture in general on the company.

Actually, increase in effective management of investment and construction projects due to automation of basic processes of management and application of modern information technologies became the purpose of creation and implementation of ISUP in Auchan LLC.

The implemented system provides following features in the field of project management:

  • formation and maintenance in current status of scheduling and network project schedules;
  • planning, control of execution and monitoring of project implementation regarding scheduling and network diagrams and project budgets;
  • tracking of agreements of projects;
  • formation and maintenance in current status of the calendar of payments under the agreements connected with project activity of the company;
  • formation of the analytical reporting on the project progress;
  • support of acceptance of management decisions for company management due to planning, formation of the analytical reporting and monitoring of key indicators on investment and construction projects of the company.

As the supplier of software tools and the consultant for methodology of project management PMSOFT Group, the partner prime minister of Oracle company presenting the solutions Oracle Primavera in Russia and CIS and Baltic countries was selected.

The project of creation of a system lasted 12 months. During the project specialists of PMSOFT Group at cooperation with representatives of Auchan LLC executed express inspection of the organization regarding processes of management of investment and construction projects, provided training of the management and group of implementation from the customer in work with system modules, developed documentation of ISUP. Also design, deployment and setup of modules of project management was performed, trial operation of a system on a pilot project is carried out. As of July, 2011 a system is accepted in commercial operation, in it about 20 employees of technical department of Auchan LLC constantly work.

Thanks to the implemented solution the staff of Auchan LLC can perform coordination of several projects at the same time. Time expenditure was considerably reduced by preparation of reports on several projects, effectively there takes place work planning, tracking of accomplishment of agreement obligations. Up-to-date information about the carried-out works is at any time available, it is possible to reveal errors of introduction of data quickly. It is important that ISUP gives ability to integrate with other software modules for the purpose of development of a single system of tracking of payment processes, thereby reducing costs for duplication of works at information input in different departments.
