Amdtekhnologiya equipped DPC Avantage with the system of cold supply, conditioning and ventilation

The companies of Amdtekhnologiya and Avantage in March, 2018 announced project completion on construction of energy efficient DPC of the Tier III level (on Uptime Institute classification). Within the project the system of cold supply, conditioning and ventilation for an object of 20 thousand square meters, contained in itself 16 machine halls with a general capacity of 2240 racks was implemented.

Tasks

According to technical specifications, DPC should:

• be energy efficient (with the PUE level no more than 1.3);
• conform to high requirements to reliability and fault tolerance;
• be easily scalable and have a possibility of step-by-step accumulation of equipment capacity.

Project Progress

For implementation of this task regarding cooling systems according to the results of the tender the company of Amdtekhnologiya was selected. During the project which proceeded one and a half years the first stage was brought into operation, 9 chillers with turbocompressors on 1.6 MW of each, 132 cupboard conditioners, 18 draykuller, the 9th plate heat exchanger glycol/water are installed. Cupboard conditioners are taken out out of borders of machine halls that allows to limit unauthorized access of personnel to the server hardware.

Project Results

For us it is the important project. We implemented transition to the mode of 100% of free cooling at a temperature of fresh air below +8 degrees Celsius. The similar solution increases reliability of work of DPC during the "cold" period of year — Victor Gavrilov, the technical director of the company of Amdtekhnologiya told. — Such approach not only increases fault tolerance of a system of cold supply at any emergency situations, but also allows to attract interesting tenants to whom it is important how reliable and, at the same time, he selected "flexible" DPC.
