BASF has requested the creation of an online store with marketplace functions. The manufacturer needed a new sales channel for its own chemical products, as well as products from other manufacturers. When creating the service, it was necessary to take into account the nuances and restrictions on the sale of chemicals in the Russian Federation.

Tasks

Development and technical support of the BASF online store, including:

  • Possibility of ordering products for legal entities and individuals;
  • Integration via API with customer ERP (prices, counterparties, balances, orders);
  • Provide product documentation for dealers and end customers.

Purchase process

The market standard is implemented - a classic purchase scenario through the selection of goods by catalog. At the same time, it takes into account the peculiarities of industry specifics, providing all the mandatory and necessary information about the product.

Customer types

After registration, legal entities undergo an approval procedure at the head office of the company. For the retail consumer, BASF brand products are available through the company's accredited dealers.

Producers

Basf seeks to expand the range, including by attracting third-party products. Therefore, when developing the catalog, it was possible to subsequently form and display the assortment of other companies. The platform allows you to insist on integration with different accounting systems and enter data manually.

Users and prices

Within the portal, a flexible pricing system is organized depending on the product commodity group, price "column," procurement volume. The process is administered by the company manager based on data from ERP.

Personal account

The mechanism of the order business process from invoicing the customer to providing "closing" documents for customer accounting is fully automated through integration with BASF's accounting system.

Result

The online store with the functionality of the BASF marketplace in Russia has been successfully launched.

More and more manufacturers are joining the project. Customers actively use the functions of a personal account, and also make orders online.
