2021: Implementation of DELMIA Solution
On September 22, 2021, Dassault Systemes announced the launch of a program to increase factory performance through the digital transformation of production and scheduling processes, implemented as part of a partnership with BMW Group. The DELMIA Quintiq solution from Dassault Systèmes was introduced to optimize the production and assembly of E-Drive components at BMW Group plants in Dingolfing, Leipzig and Regensburg.
The E-Drive component assembly lines are now connected to the DELMIA Quintiq virtual environment for production planning and scheduling. The DELMIA Quintiq applications are designed to help reduce production costs by reducing the setup time and reduction of revolving funds, as well as responding quickly to failures.
BMW Group will continue to implement DELMIA Quintiq applications to plan and optimize component production. The plan includes the improvement of production processes at all five stamping plants of the group of companies in Germany.
Demand for electric vehicles from end consumers is growing rapidly, and this forces OEMs to optimize their work in this market with limited resources. It is very important for them to ensure the timely production and delivery of specific components. Any missing part directly affects car sales. The risk of such shortages can be reduced by a different approach to production planning, which improves the speed and efficiency of the supply chain. In turn it allows to cope better with the huge volume of data and to synchronize activity of all interested parties, - Laurence Montanari, the vice president of Dassault Systèmes for decisions for automotive industry and transport said. - Dassault Systèmes will help BMW Group make faster and more efficient decisions, increase its productivity and improve the key performance indicators that reflect its current business priorities. |
