2019: Transfer of St. Petersburg branch network to press outsourcing
On April 1, 2019, Konica Minolta reported that it had completed the project of transferring 57 offices of the branch network of St. Petersburg Bank to press outsourcing. The company took 766 printing presses of varying performance from personal devices to high-speed A3 format systems for service, implemented the SafeQ printing management software and hardware solution, and improved printing processes. The bank plans to scale the project and implement solutions for optimizing document flow.
According to the company, the project to optimize the printing infrastructure has been completed in all branches and additional offices of the Bank of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as well as in the additional office of Avtozavodsky in Moscow. The main goal was to improve the availability of the printing service in additional offices, reduce the number of printing equipment, reduce maintenance costs and simplify the forecasting of printing costs.
At the initial stage of cooperation, 316 Konica Minolta MFPs were installed at the head office of the organization . As a result, the number of monochrome printing devices decreased by 33%, and color - by 50%. At the same time, the percentage of devices of A3 format, the cost of ownership of which is lower compared to A4 devices, increased from 7% to 30%. Most devices are equipped with a SafeQ firmware solution for authorizing employees using smart cards.
A feature of the project was the need to work with devices from third-party vendors. At the next stage of connecting to the printing service of the branch network of the bank, Konica Minolta took for service more than 700 devices of other vendors of which replaced 51 devices with devices of the Bizhub series. At the same time, the total number of devices in the project as of April 2019 exceeded 1000 units.
As a result, outsourcing has reduced printing costs and achieved fully transparent reporting. Printing service costs have become forecasted.
This is one of our largest projects in terms of the solutions presented and the number of locations. It is interesting in that we work not only with devices of our own production, but also with MFPs of third-party vendors that have not yet exhausted their resources. |
Konica Minolta has proven itself to be a reliable print service provider. The transfer of the head office to the outsourcing of the printing infrastructure allowed us to simultaneously reduce printing costs, and offer employees more convenient functions for working with documents. On November 14, 2017, Konica Minolta announced the completion of a project to outsource the printing infrastructure of the head office of St. Petersburg Bank.
As part of the pilot project for the year, the company delivered 340 printing machines from personal devices to high-speed A3 format systems, implemented a software and hardware solution for secure printing control YSoft SafeQ and optimized printing processes.
Due to the transition to outsourcing, the number of monochrome printing devices in the office decreased by 43%, and color - by 50%, the cost of printing decreased, while the percentage of devices of A3 format, the cost of ownership of which is lower compared to A4 devices, increased from 7% to 30%. The security of the printing infrastructure, in addition to the bank's own security system, is provided by YSoft SafeQ, a solution that controls access to printing devices through authorization using smart cards of office employees.
