2021: Agreement to Identify Commercial Losses
On November 16, 2021, it became known that MTS PJSC entered into an agreement with Bashkirenergo LLC. The partnership involves the implementation of a project to identify commercial losses in electrical networks throughout the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The solution is a software complex that, using Big Data and artificial intelligence technologies, allows you to identify metering devices that transmit low readings. A self-learning model based on loaded meter data, where theft was previously identified, identifies characteristic features and analyzes information coming from automated electricity accounting systems (ASKUE). Detected suspicious consumers are displayed on the map in an interface convenient for planning team departures.
As part of the agreement, it is planned to connect at least 200 thousand existing Bashkirenergo metering devices located in the republic to the platform for identifying commercial energy losses.
A joint project to create a platform for searching for losses in power grids has been implemented by companies since the end of 2020. As a result of tests on the power grids of the Ufa city electric networks conducted by the specialists of MTS and Bashkirenergo, traces of hacking of counters were revealed to underestimate the readings by 7-10 times, in some cases working production shops were found instead of residential premises.
Losses the Russian of electric power companies due to illegal connections to power grids, abuse and interference with the operation of metering devices are estimated at more than 250 billion rubles a year, commercial losses reach 30%. MTS has high expertise in digitalizing different industries, industries we are pleased to join the work on introducing an innovative solution at the junction, IoT Big Data and artificial intelligence together with our partner Bashikenergo, "commented Armen Avetisian, Vice President of the Internet of Things and Industrial Automation of MTS. |
The introduction of Big Data technologies and artificial intelligence is a logical development of the Smart Metering concept, which BESK JSC has been implementing in recent years. Cooperation with MTS PJSC is an example of successful cooperation in the field of high technologies and the trend of digital transformation of the country's energy industry, identified by the President of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation as a priority area of development, "said Sergey Gurin, Chairman of the Board - General Director of BESK JSC. |
MTS also developed a comprehensive solution for the implementation of the FZ-522, which regulates unified requirements for intelligent devices and electricity metering systems. The solution provides a complete data collection cycle and includes an electric meter with an integrated NB-IoT module, an ASKUE platform in the MTS cloud and traffic transmission. The meter automatically transmits the readings to the power metering systems of the supply organization or to the customer information systems. NB-IoT technology has improved radio signal penetration, which allows placing a meter in places where the use of other data transfer technologies is difficult.
