Solution
During the project the server park of the company was upgraded. Now Bashneft South uses the virtualized environment on the basis of Windows Server 2008 R2 with a free hypervisor of Hyper-V and management tools of System Center Essential Plus. Such approach provided a number of essential advantages: cardinal reduction of cost of ownership of IT due to reduction of number of the physical servers necessary for their management of licenses, and the total costs of the electric power; process automation; increase in the general controllability IT infrastructure. Besides, now IT specialists Bashneft South can easily provide to business new services without essential costs for hardware upgrade.
Opinion
"Many companies are faced today the need to update the server park. It is very important that at the same time the solution which will allow to develop further without considerable costs IT infrastructure was selected, to increase capacities and to unroll new services. An example of such balanced and effective solution is the virtualization of Microsoft Hyper-V unrolled based on the scalable Intel platform. The project in Bashneft South company is an excellent illustration of use of this solution. Would like to emphasize separately thorough study of the project and, in particular, application of the System Center system for solution management and accomplishment of backup", - Vasily Malanin, the product manager for DPC of Microsoft in Russia noted.
"A project task was in a short period as much as possible to upgrade infrastructure to develop it in the next several years without considerable investments. And we coped with this task thanks to sequential and deep analysis of the information environment existing in Bashneft South company. Thanks to System Center process of transition, including data transfer, took only two days, but not week as though data transfer was performed manually. It allowed to reduce three times project cost", - Grigory Fradkin, the head of department of integration and maintenance of information systems of Gendalf company noted.
