The St. Petersburg bank undertakes control over corporate Internet access

The St. Petersburg bank and Jet Infosystems company completed the project of creation of a control system of Internet access. A system is constructed based on the solutions Blue Coat and allows Bank to accelerate all business processes connected with access to network, to arrange and control this real-time access at higher level and also to considerably reduce the risks connected with information leaks, the virus attacks and influence of the malicious software.

Background

"Initiation of the project of security of work of employees of the bank on the Internet became a natural strategic step on providing complex cybersecurity in Bank", ─ the Chief information officer of St. Petersburg Bank Yaroslav Shelin comments.

Solution

Works in the project were continued within three months. During this time the joint project team of specialists of Bank and experts of Jet Infosystems company booked audit of infrastructure of Bank. Also rules of use of Internet resources were developed, the Internet gateway is upgraded, politicians of access to network are developed and the control system of access to resources of network which is based on Blue Coat technology is unrolled.

Result

The solution optimum conforms to requirements of Bank and gives it ample opportunities for categorization of access to the websites (blocks or permits access), protection against viruses. Access for users to the Internet corresponds to the politicians accepted in Bank, and the analysis of SSL traffic in case of need can be made. It allows to lower considerably loads of an Internet channel, to perform recording of actions of employees of the bank at Internet access, for protection of Internet traffic against viruses, a malicious code and other web threats. Besides, the implemented system allows to make the weighed management decisions on the basis of the reports which are regularly created by a system.
