The Depo Computers company completed the first stage of the project of upgrade of IT infrastructure of "The British higher school of design".
Start
Former IT infrastructure did not ensure to the customer of required level safety of data and comfort in work of employees and students. Also expenses on regular accumulation of computing powers and service of systems were non-optimal. If earlier extent of utilization of physical capacities of school steadily did not exceed 20-30%, then today it reaches 80-90%. More than 1000 users daily can quickly get access to resources of school and implement the creative ideas without concerns about safety of data.
Opinion
"Different models, sketches and other "heavy" data are and there is a main product of our organization, ensuring reliable storage of such information — one of bases of our business. Therefore we regularly increase computing powers, spending for it considerable means. Without implementation of new technologies and approaches such strategy could turn back an infinite unproductive waste of time and money, growth of number of pieces of iron, costs of their service and repair. For this reason we looked for the partner innovator who has flexible tools and a new view on a task. Actually, these expectations were sewed in the tender which we announced for IT suppliers — the head of IT department of "The British higher school of design" Alexander Lata told. — As a result I and my colleagues spent more than three weeks for studying of offers, most of them were or are very dear, or are opaque on return from implementations, as a result preference was given to the ideas of Depo Computers. The company has unique opportunities of customization of any product and the solution under our business challenges, it is extremely important for us. At the same time specialists of Depo put the potential for rapid growth in the current project at once".
According to the vice president of Depo Computers Victor Urusov, "in the project for "The British higher school of design" multivendor approach was used and engineering competences of our group of research and development were applied. As a result the provided profitable budgetings of the project and also software developments of VMware and Symantec were a part of the solution available at the price of DWH of Depo Storage 5312 Base. As a result of preliminary testing 12 changes increasing efficiency of the complete solution for specific tasks of "The British higher school of design" were made to the equipment and the software".
