Bayer implements processing system and printing of documents

On November 21, 2013 the Luxoft company announced: it put in operation the first version of a system of the automated processing and printing of documents for BAYER Ltd company.

Project Progress

Specialists of Luxoft company together with business experts and technical specialists of BAYER Ltd executed the project on development and deployment of a system of the automated processing and printing of documents of SAP using XSL-FO-technologies. System development is made in two stages — the first stage is implemented during the period from November 14, 2012 to December 31, 2012, the second stage was completed on April 20, 2013.

Implementation automates business challenges of staff of functional divisions of BAYER Ltd:

• printing of a packet of shipment documents
• operational information transfer to partners of BAYER Ltd
• completing and printing of the certificates accompanying shipment of goods.

When implementing the project the possibility of interaction with the complete solution FollowMe which is used for ensuring access control and process management of printing is provided. A system is developed in the Java languages and С# using XSL-FO technologies.

Project Results

A system performs data reading from initial XML document and creates the output file of the set format (PDF, XML, XSL, CSV) according to business process, the document further received is transferred to addressees (to the user, an external system, the printer) on the protocol set by a route (FTP, FTP over HTTP, SMTP/e-mail, direct printing). The functionality of a system allows to create a packet of accompanying certificates for shipment of goods from a warehouse on the basis of data processing of initial XML and to transfer the created packet (ZIP, PDF) to the receiver set by a route.

As a result of the executed project, the Luxoft command with active support technical and business representatives of BAYER Ltd started printing of shipment documents, according to new requirements to the system of printing in time. Transition to the new system of printing is implemented with optimum level of comfort for end users.
