On January 15, 2019 it became known that at "The central institute of aviation engine building of P.I. Baranov" at the end of 2018 the project on development of architecture of the supercomputer environment on the basis of the domestic server Elbrus system came to the end (TsIAM). It is intended for modeling of gasdynamic processes in aviation power units — for the benefit of Tupolev and Tactical Missile Armament corporation.
As noted in CNews, the fact that on November 27, 2018 the relevant agreement on the website of state procurements received the status "execution is complete" demonstrates to a successful completion of the project. As the contractor one of sorazrabotchik Elbrusov — "Institute of electronic managing machines of I.S. Brook" (INEUM) acted. In a row on 4.1 million rubles got to it as to the unique supplier. The implementation of works was expected a time frame from July 2 to October 30, 2018.
In addition to development of architecture of the INEUM supercomputer environment it was necessary to adapt components of the system and application software for architecture of the computer system on the basis of the server Elbrus system. It represents set of the cabinets with servers and DWH integrated by a communication network in mass and parallel computing structure — with a possibility of obtaining performance to several tens petaFLOPS, said in the technical project, in the section of initial data for execution of works.
Servers and DWH are under construction based on the Russian eight-nuclear microprocessors "Elbrus-8C" with a peak capacity of 250 gigaflops and controllers of the peripheral interfaces KPI-2, it is noted in the same place.
Making a start from these formulations and also taking into account that the place of execution of works in tender documents specifies address TSIAMA, in CNews drew a conclusion that the institute locates the specified capacities. However, it is not clear when and in what volumes he got them. All obviously interpreted open server tenders TSIAMA of the last years concerned only the equipment of Hewlett-Packard. At the time of a material exit in the press service of institute this question of CNews was not cleared.
That the supercomputer environment and its program stack — what sort should represent compilers, system, auxiliary and the application software it will include, in open access is not described.
In the tender documentation it is possible to meet the description of the general vision by institute of a perspective of creation of supercomputer technologies under domestic "iron".

At the same time are sure of the organization that toughening of control from foreign developers over deliveries of key components for supercomputers and development of monitoring systems of not declared means of removal and transfer abroad on the Internet of information processed on defense industry enterprises creates real threats for security of the state.
For computer simulation and reverse engineering of multidimensional processes for the purpose of creation of perspective samples of arms foreign commercial software packages are in most cases used, speak in TSIAME. The institute claims that the domestic application software on the basis of the Elbrus microprocessor specially was not developed for supercomputers, and foreign software products on this architecture were not tested.[1]
