Roca completely passed from 1C to SAP

The producer of products for bathrooms in Russia the Roca company refused the system of 1C and some other business systems for benefit of corporate SAP ERP. The project will have continuation.

The producer of ceramics Roca Group translated two affiliated enterprises - "Roca Rus" and Ceramics - under management of the SAP ERP system as conforming to corporate standards.

Roca Group makes products for bathrooms and locates 68 plants in 135 countries of the world. The company entered the Russian market in 2006, having opened own production in the Leningrad Region with the investment plan in €40 million (the beginning of construction - 2004). Today Roca Group possesses 4 plants in the territory of Russia with total production more than 4.4 million products a year – in Tosno, Cheboksary, Novocheboksarsk, Vorotynsk (Kaluga region).

Prior to the beginning of the SAP project the company for accounting used systems on the platform of 1C for accounting and also Excel (managerial accounting) and SDR (the program of accounting of implementation, purchase of goods). However, the policy in the field of informatization of Roca Group in the world dictated other requirements, and the decision to transfer accounting of the Russian division to SAP was made afterwards.

The purpose of the project starting in the winter of 2010 consisted in localization of the information management system based on SAP solutions used at the Roca Group enterprise in Switzerland for the subsequent implementation at the Russian plants of holding.

The project task consisted in creating single solution which would cover all production cycle of the company from planning before production plus logistics and all types of accounting at the enterprise. The project was executed jointly by GMCS and ITML integrators, SAP performing setup at the Roca Group enterprise in Switzerland. So the first helped to adapt systems to the Russian features, and the second – to the European standards.

In the middle of January, 2011 the new information system based on SAP ERP was brought into commercial operation at head office "Roca Rus" in Moscow and on production near St. Petersburg and also at the central office "Keramika" in Moscow and two of its plants in Cheboksary and Novocheboksarsk.

GMCS specified that in further SAP it will be unrolled also at the plant in the Kaluga region belonging Fate in Russia. The parties do not disclose the number of the licenses purchased for the project and its cost.
