On June 6, 2019 The First Beat company announced system implementation of WMS on a warehouse complex of the Russian producer of a pipeline armature of LD. Thanks to the solution "1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse" the enterprise increased turnover of warehouse stocks by 20% and accelerated processing of client orders for 30%.
For many years the LD company could not build effectively warehouse processes, provide increase in production and sales. It was connected with a lack of warehouse spaces at the enterprise. The warehouses which are available for the company were territorially separated and were located near production sites and workshops. Therefore the management of LD decided to construct a uniform warehouse complex.
Effectively to use warehouse spaces and to automate key processes, top management of the enterprise addressed to The First Beat company.
The task to execute the project in the period of a low season from August to November was set for experts of the system integrator. For such term it was necessary for them:
- design the WMS system;
- develop the program, configure it and test;
- bring a system into commercial operation and train employees of a warehouse complex, department of logistics and production sites in work in it.

Within the project experts of the system integrator developed and implemented intellectual algorithms of optimization which:
- simplified work to WMS-sistemy operators;
- saved time of storekeepers at accomplishment of warehouse transactions;
- provided the maximum use of warehousing capacit.
"The condition was the main criterion of applicability of such intellectual algorithms: the algorithm should propose the solution not worse, than the WMS operator with wide experience and full knowledge of specifics of warehouse processes of customer company is capable to give. At the same time the algorithm issues the instant solution. While it is required to the WMS operator on search of working candidate solution of 20-30 seconds. In scales of a warehouse complex the efficiency is hours. Algorithms of optimization are developed in language C ++ and connected to the WMS systems database as external components", noted Roman Shangin, the leading programmer of department of projects of the Chelyabinsk office of The First Beat company |
During the project the following processes were automated:
- Generation of barcodes and printing of labels on the accepted products from production.
- Goods acceptance using the data collection terminal (DCT).
- Placement of goods using the shipping documentation. So the problem of optimal floor planning of products of different dimensions in cells of different capacity is solved.
- Selection of goods with the shipping documentation. The functionality of selection of compound loads on the shipping documentation taking into account a special order of placement of goods on a pallet is developed.
- Shipment of products using the shipping documentation. Shipment according to the scheme cross docking.
- Inventory of a remaining balance of goods in a warehouse with the help of the shipping documentation.
For June, 2019 the program is supported by specialists of the First Bit and continues to develop due to development and implementation of algorithms of optimization of warehouse processes.
