2019: Acquisition of 30 exoskeletons of Exorise

On December 26, 2019 it became known that Severstal purchased 30 exoskeletons X-soft for improvement of working conditions and decrease in level of injury rate in production divisions of Cherepovets iron and steel works (CHERMK).

This batch of exoskeletons will pass trial tests with the subsequent completion and replication taking into account a feedback.

The exoskeleton X-soft has an anthropomorphic form and is configured under different physical parameters of the person. It does not hold down the movement and does not limit freedom of action, compensating up to 30% of loading. Besides, the exoskeleton meets requirements of speed of equipment, thermal stability and wear resistance.

Construction represents the flexible basis of the increased durability, a corset part which compensates compression load of a backbone and adjusts a bearing and also springs and distributed system of elastomers for increase in efficiency at inclinations and rises. The exoskeleton unloads back muscles due to returnable action of springs and elastomer without any metal springs. Therefore even if construction will be put on incorrectly, it will not do harm to the operator.

Exoskeletons X-Soft разработаны by the Russian company "Exorise" and expected any workers doing manual work. They passed tests in several workshops of Cherepovets iron and steel works, in particular, in workshop of finishing of metal No. 1, workshop of polymeric coverings No. 1 and in a complex of blast furnace No. 4. Exoskeletons received positive reviews of workers therefore the management of the enterprise made the decision to bring them into trial operation.

The Severstal company cares for working conditions of the employees and aims to facilitate physical activities where it is possible. Modern exoskeletons perfectly cope with it: having put on it, it is possible to work safely with heavy tools or with smaller efforts to perform handling and installation works. We are sure of perspectives of implementation of this development and are glad that advanced technologies improve working conditions of the person,
commented the chief of TsTR of directorate on repairs of CherMK Konstantin Gondalev[1]
