IBS provided complex support of warehouse processes of Cherkizovo on the SAP EWM platform

On November 13, 2018 the IBS command together with the Cherkizovo group, the Russian producer of meat products, announced cooperation increase. The center of the round-the-clock support of logistic processes of IBS also provides now complex support of the warehouse processes of Cherkizovo implemented on the SAP EWM platform in mode 24х7.

Specifics of the food industry is the sensitivity to any delays in logistics — this business deals with perishable loads. Therefore the logistics should be performed continuously, round the clock and without failures. Critical situations lead to failure of deliveries, violation of obligations to partners and customers, and, finally, to real financial loss.

Project Progress

The solution on management of warehouses on the SAP EWM platform implemented in Cherkizovo for November, 2018 is one of crucial elements of logistics of the company. The uninterrupted operation of critical logistic processes directly depends on its working capacity.

The IBS company in January, 2018 announced project completion on implementation of the SAP Financial Closing Cockpit software product (SAP FCC) in Cherkizovo Trading house (TD Cherkizovo).

Prerequisites

By 2017 in Cherkizovo company need of optimization of closing of reporting period in connection with a number of restrictions ripened:

• The insufficient involvement of participants of different divisions into closing process, insufficient understanding of the role and the importance in the general diagram of closing;
• Coordination of participants of closing was performed manually (by e-mail, phone) and was unstable;
• There was no possibility of the operational and evident analysis of "bottlenecks" of process of closing and accounting of history of the previous cycles of closings.

Project Tasks

Reduction of runtime and reliability augmentation of the procedure of closing of the period, increase in transparency and controllability of process due to central planning, execution and monitoring of the diagram of closing became main objectives of the project.

Project Progress

The functional customer of Cherkizovo-OTsO who renders services in accounting, preparation of the regulated reporting, carrying out payments (factory of payments), document storage (archive service) became the main initiator of process optimization. The Russian company IBS became the technology partner on optimization and automation of business process.

The IBS command offered implementation of ready business solution based on the SAP Financial Closing Cockpit software product adapted for specifics of closing in TD "Cherkizovo". The product was selected as the optimal functional solution supplementing and expanding the existing SAP ERP system according to the strategy of the Cherkizovo group at the choice of the key platform for conducting business processes. Extensive examination and experiment on implementation of this product in the Russian market and also the short terms of the project offered by the IBS command became the main factors of the choice of IBS as the partner.

The solution was integrated in the existing system architecture of SAP in only 2 months. As of January 22, 2018, a system is put into commercial operation.

Product introduction of SAP FCC by forces of the IBS command allowed to lower labor costs of administrators of closing due to accurate coordination of all participants in a unified environment and also to reduce the number of delays on steps at the expense of automatic reminders and online monitoring of the statuses and terms.

After SAP implementation of FCC process of closing in TD "Cherkizovo" is considered as unified transparent environment of interaction where each participant can visually see the steps in the general diagram and estimate their influence on aggregate terms of closing. The solution allows to construct automatically the schedule of closing taking into account working time and dependences between tasks, to automatically execute separate close operations at accomplishment of premises. Participants of closing receive email notifications (about the planned termination of a task, about accomplishment of the previous tasks, about delay of a task, etc.) that allows to react timely to any messages and deviations from the diagram.

Application of SAP FCC gives the chance to consider experience of the previous closings, to define "bottlenecks" and to optimize separate close operations. According to the results of the project need of correspondence and telephone conversations between participants was reduced, the new relation of each participant to closing process as to uniform and complete process was created, the probability of violation of terms decreased. Thanks to harmonious work of project participants it was succeeded to execute the project in short terms, having at once received benefit from implementation — Pavel Mamukov, the director of Cherkizovo-OTsO summed up the project results.
