The Cisco HyperFlex platform helped to ensure functioning of IT services of the international airport of Krasnoyarsk

On February 5, 2019 the Cisco company reported that at the international airport Krasnoyarsk the hyper convergent Cisco HyperFlex platform is set. Its implementation helped to start process of digital transformation of IT infrastructure of the airport, to adjust functioning of 24/7 IT services and by that to support smooth operation of the air transport hub. The project is implemented by the Select-partner of Cisco LANIT-SIBERIA company.

The IT service of the airport needed to update the server hardware. At the same time it was important to perform migration without stopping of the IT services affecting stability and the continuity of work of the airport. Besides, it was required to start also a number of additional services.

As the solution the Cisco HyperFlex platform was selected. It allows to create hyper convergent infrastructure (HCI) integrating calculations, virtualization, data storage and their transfer in a uniform cluster. Hyper convergence provides convenience and simplicity of cloud approach within one manageable platform. As a result the airport of Krasnoyarsk received a multicloud IT environment based on the adaptive platform which works with any applications, showing at the same time high rates of performance and flexible scaling. According to the results of the project the airport continued to use Cisco HyperFlex for the most part of crucial tasks even after input in a system of the new server hardware.

"The Cisco HyperFlex platform proved to be as very reliable and productive solution. During operation of a system there was no serious problem with the platform even in non-staff situations. As a result of Cisco Hyperflex helped to reduce costs for deployment and operation of IT systems of the airport, to reduce the number of failures in work of infrastructure by 50%, to reduce time for failure handling in non-working days by 80% and also to increase the volume of the reserved data of the airport Krasnoyarsk to the 20th terabyte".

"In a project deliverable the staff of the airport could take a maximum from the IT systems, and passengers received higher quality of service. Specialists of IT service of the airport Krasnoyarsk received the integrated cluster with a uniform point of management easily to regulate settings of the virtual machines and to trace a configuration of their disks in order to avoid failures in work of services".
