JSC Tupolev completes upgrade of DPC

On January 20, 2014 it became known of project completion of construction of a data processing center (DPC) in Tupolev design office on the platform of the equipment Cisco.

Project Tasks

For accomplishment of resource-intensive computing calculations in the field of aerodynamic and strength modeling, support of product lifecycle management systems (PLM), there was a need to upgrade computing communication and engineering infrastructure of DPC it met the modern requirements as for reliability, continuity and performance of functioning of IT services.

In a work progress over the project solutions of different producers were considered. Equipment selection from Cisco company is caused, first of all, by existence of the integrated opportunities of centralized operation and switching. Besides, the solutions Cisco provided an optimal combination "price quality" and perfectly proved at operation in IT infrastructure of other enterprises of the aviation industry.

The Russian system integrator AS Firm LLC became the contractor of the project.

Project Progress

As the server and telecommunication platform the integrated Cisco Unified Computing System computing system (Cisco UCS) is selected. The computing Cisco UCS platform is constructed on the basis of the innovation architecture in which computing resources and network infrastructure of the access level are integrated into a single homogeneous system with the built-in management on a basis the politician that allows to reduce total cost of ownership, to increase management efficiency and to provide the maximum flexibility of a data processing center.

The basis of computing powers of DPC was formed a blade servers of Cisco UCS of B200 series. As the "portable" server systems (standby systems, backup systems and monitoring) the rack Cisco UCS C220 servers were used. The Cisco switches Nexus 5548 are used to creation of factory of switching of a server farm.

Project Results

The new DPC allowed to increase considerably performance, continuity and reliability of work of crucial business applications (the 3D systems - modeling, PLM systems, electronic document management systems, infrastructure services and so forth).
