On October 8, 2014 the Technoserv company announced an implementation project of a System of photovideo fixing of traffic offenses Intersection in Nizhny Novgorod.

Project Progress

The complex is set at the intersection of Sormovskoye Highway and Burnakovsky Drive in Nizhny Novgorod. It consists of two video cameras, the power supply and management which processes the received images, creating the evidential fact base of offenses. In sight of the first video camera there is a traffic light from which red light, highway section with the stop line and the intersection in the direction of transport is detected. The second video camera - survey with high resolution (5 Megapixels), it is located towards to traffic flow and observes lanes in one direction. On a video information from this camera recognition of numbers, determination and automatic classification of violations is made (arrival for the stop line or driving through red light). The acquired information automatically in online the mode comes to the Nizhny Novgorod TsAFAP where employees create official mailings of resolutions on administrative offenses to owners of cars of the broken traffic regulations.

Project Results

According to the results of operation, since the beginning of 2014 features of the Intersection system are mentioned:

  • Automatic classification of violations under the articles of the Administrative Code.
  • Determination of the current phase of operation of the traffic light on the video image without connection and intervention in operation of the traffic light equipment.
  • Formation in readily available archive of a packet of various photos and video of materials for decision-making by the employee of TsAFAP and formation of incontestable evidential base. At the same time resolution of the camera (5 Megapixels) allows to process data from four lanes at the same time.
  • Simplicity of setup and adaptation of the Intersection system to requirements of the changing legislation and specifics of operation in the region of installation.
  • Existence of the function of automatic detection of faults of the traffic light equipment allowing to organize timely its repair, to exclude from the materials coming to TsAFAP, false operations for the period of incorrect operation of the traffic light and to create a videoarchive on a case of possible road accidents.
