Sitronics is going to become the supplier of tickets for Sochi

Sitronics Microelectronics is going to implement the system of transport proximity cards in Sochi, the marketing director of the company Karina Abagyan told the correspondent of TAdviser on September 24, 2012. According to her the company left with such offer to administration of the resort. However, the answer did not follow yet.

Sitronics Microelectronics is going to deliver to the city for the period of the Olympic Games about 16 million transport cards and further about 1 million cards a year.

Cards can be two types:

• Paper - the cost of one map will be 5-8 rubles for everyone depending on delivery scopes;
• Plastic - cost are 10-20 rubles for one piece depending on delivery scopes.

All cards, according to Abagyan, are delivered with the chip. "The card can be filled up repeatedly. It is possible to attach to a certain personality. Also the card can be used as the entrance ticket for Olympic venues during the sports meets", - she told. "In the latter case it will not be necessary to issue several cards or to print tickets".

Carrying out Olympic games therefore for this time about 16 million cards can be required will be peak load on the transport system of the city, according to Abagyan. Most likely they will be disposable paper.

"It will be more profitable to locals to purchase plastic cards and then to fill up them, and the vacationer - one-time tickets. At the expense of vacationers it is just going to bring the supply rate of tickets to 1 million a year", - Abagyan continued.

Implementation

According to Karina Abagyan if the city accepts the offer, Sitronics Microelectronics will be responsible only for delivery of tickets and reader devices. "Either the local integrator, or any other partner will be engaged in implementation and setup of IT systems", - it continued.

Rostelecom as the general contractor of all projects concerning communication could be engaged in implementation. However in the company did not confirm to the correspondent of TAdviser the participation in the project yet.

Implementations of reader devices will demand all city vehicles, Olympic venues.

Terms

Abagyan did not tell about specific terms, having noted that by experience of the project in Moscow Metro, a system can be implemented in 2013.
