Cosmetics - the 21st century (1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse)

The Cosmetics XXI company is engaged more than 5 years in production and wholesale of cosmetic products, being one of market leaders. The last two years smooth operation of a warehouse of the company is ensured by the joint solution of 1C Company and AXELOT company "1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse".

Implementation of the automated control system for a warehouse in 2006 first of all was intended to solve a problem of the organization of control over expiration dates of the goods which are stored in a warehouse. And it was important not only to ship goods on an expiration date, but also to consider requirements of partners to a residual expiration date of the goods arriving to them. From all systems offered in the Russian market, most fully software product "to 1C Logistics met needs and expectationses of the enterprise: Management of a warehouse". AXELOT, being a developer of the specified solution, already had considerable experience in control automation by modern warehouse complexes. The listed reasons and also optimal cost of a system and services in its implementation defined the choice of Cosmetics XXI company.

During preparation for the project of automation specialists of AXELOT conducted examination of a warehouse of the Customer. By its results the decision on development of the technology project for optimization of logistic processes was made. Directly system implementation of automation was planned as the final stage of upgrade of a warehouse. In a work progress over the technology project the enterprise made the decision on relocation of warehouse economy. The new premises in the south of Moscow represented the three-storyed building where the Cosmetics XXI company rented 6000 sq.m. of warehouse spaces. For start of a warehouse under control of an automated system in this territory process design was also organized.

The project works begun in an old warehouse of the enterprise in the middle of May, 2006 were continued. From AXELOT the programmer, the consultant, the system architect and the project manager took part in them. The party "Kosmetiki-XXI a century" was represented by heads of department of operators, a warehouse and IT department. The project was supervised by the chief executive of the company Vladimir Viktorovich Bykov.

On the first floor of a new warehouse 2 boxes of temporary storage were placed; the storage area and a production zone were located on the 3rd floor. Storage of 2000 descriptions of goods was performed on pallet racks; its movement was made using freight elevators. When carrying out process design space-planning solutions, routes of the movement of warehouse personnel, technology of cargo processing were developed, recommendations about reorganization of warehouse economy, number of personnel and the number of the hoisting-and-transport equipment are made.

During implementation "1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse" operations of acceptance on quality and quantity, selection, shipment, inventory, movement of goods from the storage area and back on elevators, automatic placement of goods in the storage area were implemented. Transaction of assembly of sets is also automated (sets of cosmetics and means for leaving in a gift box). The automatic placement of collected orders which was absent in standard release of the program in a shipment zone is in addition developed. Specialists of AXELOT prepared work instructions and executed integration of a warehouse management system with 1C: Trade Management – a corporate system of the Customer. 5 jobs are automated. After carrying out personnel training of the warehouse to work with a system which came to the end in November, 2006, the remained boxes were brought into operation already without participation of AXELOT.
