2018: Use of process 3D - classifications

On November 19, 2018 the companies Bureau Veritas, Naval Group also Dassault Systèmes announced use of process 3D - classifications to the large to naval vessel. It marks a step forward in assessment and settlement modeling of the projects necessary for standard approval at design and construction new courts and also an important milestone in digital transformation of all ship-building industries, consider in Bureau Veritas.

The joint project on development of the concept 3D - classifications combines experience of Bureau Veritas in the field of testing, inspections and certifications; Naval Group practices in the field of design and construction of hi-tech naval courts, and examination of Dassault Systèmes in the field of the software for 3D - design, creation digital 3D - models and solutions for product lifecycle management. Together partners intend to provide digital succession of data for reduction of time and the accompanying costs at project evaluation and also to increase the accuracy and traceability of data at the expense of the organization of more effective information access for different project participants.

Process 3D - classifications was created by means of the Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform. In this process the uniform 3D model for exchange of digital information, increase in efficiency of joint work and decrease in number of the iterations necessary at assessment of classification of the project for his statement is used. All comments and iterations can be traced, taken into account and to analyze in real time.

The 3D model is completely integrated with a packet of the Bureau Veritas tools – the software for modeling and calculations. Bureau Veritas allows to carry out classification, relying on a vessel 3D model, and Naval Group is capable to improve finally characteristics of the products and to increase the competitiveness due to implementation more innovation processes.

"Project evaluation is an important process step of classification. Transition to 3D - classification means that are not necessary to us 2D any more - drawings for project analysis. It provides us the practical, being in shared access scalable model which shows advantages of digital transformation in the ship-building industry. In the conditions of dynamically changing market it provides to us and all those who works with us, necessary tools for rendering services of modern classification, and lays the foundation for creation of the new standard in the field of classification".

"Naval Group projects, builds and services sea vessels and submarines for the customers. Our main objective will be in improving characteristics of our products and along with it to increase our competitiveness. For implementation of these business challenges, we use innovations as a basis of our strategy. Innovations not only in terms of products, but also in terms of processes. Implementation 3D - classifications is one of examples of such innovations in our processes. It will help us to lower design costs and also to accelerate products output to the market".

2016: Implementation 3DExperience

On February 8, 2016 the Dassault Systèmes company and shipbuilding company DCNS announced the choice of DCNS of platform 3DEXPERIENCE as means for designing and creation of solutions for the Navies, service of these solutions for all their lifecycle[1].

Project Task

DCNS intends to implement 3DEXPERIENCE for management of complete lifecycle of all the products, from submarines and the big anti-submarine ships and finishing with patrol ships, aircraft carriers, the landing ships docks (LPD).

Development of DCNS (2013) company

According to partners in the project, implementation of platform 3DEXPERIENCE positively will affect all production processes of the customer, since work on the concept and design and finishing with direct production, service and operation of products, will promote improvement of utilization properties of products and improving competitiveness of the enterprise at world level.

Flexibility and dynamism as which we understand capability of the company timely to create reliable and effective solutions which would satisfy needs of our clients provided integration of the systems of world level and provided operational cost-efficient tools for product lifecycle management, – are for us important competitive advantage. Thanks to our cooperation with Dassault Systèmes and use of their revolutionary solutions for the sea industry now we have a realistic plan of development – the strategic plan allowing to implement our ambitious goals.

In general the sea industry and the offshore industry endure a new wave of innovations, especially today how the representation in open sea space becomes more and more strategically significant factor for the states. The decision of DCNS company on implementation of platform 3DEXPERIENCE for creation of virtual models of all the products at all stages of their lifecycles will allow to declare the new level of productivity in the sea industry. Our new cooperation with DCNS has something in common with our recent announcement about the beginning of work with the world leader in production of the big cruise ships, shipyard of Meyer Werft. Through joint efforts we invent and we put into operation the sea and offshore platforms illustrating new opportunities of modern technologies in that sector where there are demanded high-integrated systems for ensuring unique experience for industry customers.
