The Schneider Electric company announced in May, 2017 end of a pilot project on creation of the wireless 3D system - visualization of climate in two machine halls of commercial data center of DataSpace company. Installation and balancing and commissioning were carried out by specialists of Amdtekhnologii LLC, one of the leading Russian companies working in the field of design, creation, upgrade and support of the complex engineering systems of data processing centers.
The commercial DPC of DataSpace company should provide the necessary temperature, humidity and speed of an air flow in machine halls. Because of specific requirements of one of clients of DataSpace company the non-standard solution which can be installed on the existing infrastructure without interruption of work of services and without cable connection of sensors in racks was required.
For the solution of an assigned task wireless climatic sensors were selected: "In DPC the integrated management system for engineering infrastructure of DataCenter Expert to which the controllers and sensors delivered by us were connected was already used and also set software of DataCenter Operation and constructed a 3D model of two machine halls. The model allows to trace in real time temperature, humidity and speed of an air flow. Using this solution it is possible to detect an overheating point before damage and in a pro-active mode to fix a problem", - Yury Drabkin, the consultant for maintenance of lifecycle of infrastructure of DPCs of division of IT Division of Schneider Electric company reported.
In each machine hall two controllers and two independent networks of sensors are installed that provides fault tolerance and the level of monitoring of infrastructure conforming to requirements of TIER III. Compact sensors fasten on magnets (there is also a possibility of rigid fastening) and do not require wire connections - they are equipped with own battery providing 3-5 years of work. Also in some racks wireless repeaters of a signal were set. The network uses the frequency of 2.4 GHz and the special protected industry protocol. In a software package technologies of virtualization are applied, it is well protected, failsafe and completely conform to requirements of TIER III.
