Severstal has launched a data center for the Yakovlevsky Mining and Processing Plant

Customers: Yakovlevsky mine

Mineral extraction

Contractors: Datark
Product: Datark Modular Data Centers (World Data Centre)

Project date: 2025/10

Severstal commissioned a modular data center based on the Yakovlevsky Mining and Processing Plant. This was announced on October 14, 2025 by representatives of the Datark company, which implemented the project.

Optimod's new data center is designed to accommodate 10 racks. The total power of the equipment is 100 kW. The data center infrastructure includes precision air conditioners that provide a stable temperature regime. For continuous operation of the equipment, an uninterruptible power supply system with dual 2N redundancy is installed. Such a solution guarantees high fault tolerance of the center.

The specifics of the location of the facility required special engineering solutions. The data center is located on the territory of the production plant, where iron ores are mined. There is a high concentration of iron dust in the air. The Client has established strict requirements for the stability of engineering systems and compliance of structures with Russian and international standards.

The high factory readiness of the modular data center allowed the project to be completed on time. All technical requirements have been fulfilled in full.

Mikhail Shumai, key customer manager, explained that the remoteness of the facility has become a critical factor in the design. According to him, the company has created an infrastructure that will ensure round-the-clock operation of the center, regardless of external conditions and force majeure circumstances.

Representatives of the Yakovlevsky Mining and Processing Plant noted that the new modular data processing center will be included in the enterprise's digitalization program. The launch of the facility will expand the information system of the plant and introduce additional services.[1]
