On May 22, 2024, the State Archive of the Russian Federation (Gosarchiv) announced a tender for the creation of a data storage and processing center (CHOD) in the city of Obninsk in the Kaluga Region. The initial contract price is 1.03 billion rubles.

The tender documentation states that the data center should provide permanent and long-term storage and processing of electronic documents using a hardware and software complex. The contract provides for the deployment of the necessary utilities, including power supply systems and local area networks. When creating the CCH, Russian hardware solutions and domestic software will be used.

In particular, the purchase of Depo Storm rack servers 3470A2R 2U size is provided. Their configuration includes two Intel Xeon Ice Lake-SP processors, each with up to 40 processing cores (80 instruction streams). 32 RAM modules can be installed DDR4-3200. The equipment includes 12 front compartments for 3.5 or 2.5-inch drives with a SATA/SAS/NVMe interface. Hot swap is supported. In addition, there is a dedicated bay for two non-hot-swap SSDs and two M.2 2280/22110 slots (PCIe 3.0 x4). Two units up to 1600 W are responsible for power supply.

Under the contract, Depo Storage 3536G3 in the 4U package is also purchased. They can be equipped with 24 SAS drives. RAID 0/5/6/7.3/10/N + M disk arrays are supported. Two 1200 W power supplies are installed. Plus, desktop workstations, network equipment, office furniture, etc. are purchased.

The implementation of work on the creation of the MCH is financed from the federal budget. The deadline is constructions November 20, 2024.[1]
