2015: The transaction between TCS and Lufthansa
In the middle of December, 2015 the Deutsche Lufthansa AG airline, largest in Europe, announced the conclusion of the large IT contract with the Indian outsourcer of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) who in the homeland is in the lead on revenue in the market of information technologies.
Under the terms of the agreement, TCS will provide to the partner services of applications testing and also will be engaged in improvement of quality of services of its IT department. Parts of cooperation are not disclosed, including its financial side. It is known only that the contract is expected several years, and its cost will be "millions of dollars".
Lufthansa note that the transaction with TCS is a part of the conversions of IT work directed to acceleration of an output of products to the market, improvement of opportunities for clients, development of innovations and continuous improvement of business. TCS will direct and manage services of testing of the corporate software that will allow the German airline to optimize and standardize processes of testing of products, to cut down a capital expenditure and to implement services of new generation.
According to the Chief information officer of Lufthansa Roland Schutz (Roland Schutz), the company always tried to obtain progress by building of joint work in the market and formations of key strategic partnership.
"We are very glad that Lufthansa selected TCS the strategic partner from this important initiative which will allow to strengthen the relations with one of our most valuable clients. We invest in expansion of our business and a team of specialists in Germany much, and we will seize our best opportunities for implementation of the new project" — the director of division of TCS in Central Europe Sapthagiri Chapalapalli said.
As of the middle of December, 2015 Lufthansa works with several IT companies among which — Accenture, Amadeus and IBM. The last began cooperation with Lufthansa at the end of 2014, having concluded the bargain for 1 billion euros.[1]
