On December 13, 2016 the Raidix company announced the project of delivery of a storage system on the basis of Radix Aero technology by request of Digital Design company.
Project Tasks
Digital Design round the clock uses computing and resources of storage, active users more than 600 employees, observes growth of amounts of data of storage.
The company made the decision on implementation of a failsafe high-performance storage system for solving of tasks of virtualization and effective processing of critical business operations.
Project Progress
Raidix proposed the solution Radix Aero - an end-to-end system of data storage on the platform of RAIDIX Enterprise technology.
In this project of Raidix used RAID 6 array with double distribution of parity based on mathematical algorithms of own development. RAID 6 provides the increased performance as each disk of an array processes I/O requests independently, allowing to provide data access in the parallel mode. RAID 6 can sustain a total failure of two disks in one group.
As a part of hardware infrastructure work:
- 10 Supermicro servers with the LSI HBA cards and Mellanox Infiniband adapters
- for synchronization - ISCSI over Infiniband.
- for automatic input of a reserve - ISCSI over Ethernet.
The solution uses three sections of RAID 6i and on average in three LUN on the section on each server. On all servers are set VMWare ESXi 5.1 also VCenter 5.1 with virtual machines (VM). Virtual machines performed functions of the data warehouse MS SQL, servers for backup, file servers for corporate users and virtual server farms for engineers of software, office services, etc.
The selected configuration provided effective processing of accidental data and high reliability.
Project Results
Implementation helped with receiving opportunities of fast deployment and flexible scaling of virtual infrastructures, performance of transaction transactions increased in corporate environment.
For December, 2016 the Raidix company executes technical support and periodic updating of infrastructure of storage for the customer.
