"Duck-bill" completed upgrade of SCS

On June 25, 2015 the company iCore announced upgrade of the data network (DN) Internet- hypermarket "Duck-bill"^[1].

Project Tasks

At the beginning of 2014 the Utkonos company updated wireless infrastructure by means of installation of access points with capacity of 1 Gbps. The operating points provided connection to 100 Mbps therefore there was a need for hardware upgrade for fall forward of exchange on all sections of network.

Replacement was required to be made imperceptibly for users as the quality and efficiency of service depends on availability and network performance.

Project Progress

Obsolete switches replaced with the equipment Brocade. According to customer representatives, the choice of vendor was influenced by an optimal ratio of cost and the implemented functionality and also an implementation time — the equipment was supplied within a month. The company managed to be convinced of reliability of solutions of Brocade since they form a basis of the storage area network (SAN) of Duck-bill.

Engineers of iCore installed in a warehouse segment of corporate SPD of Duck-bill the Brocade switches with capacity to 1 Gbps. The company created the project, supplied and installed the equipment, configured, held testing and start in operation. Works in the project took one and a half months.

Project Results

As declared iCore, replacement of an obsolete equipment by modern analogs provided acceleration of traffic and a possibility of further growth of network by means of increase in number of the user ports by 25%.
