Electric trucks without drivers received the first robotic stations that begin charging without human participation. VIDEO

Customers: Rocsys

Electrical and Microelectronics

Contractors: Einride

Project date: 2025/05

On May 19, 2025, Rocsys and Einride introduced a fully automated electric truck charging system. The process is carried out without human involvement, which paves the way for autonomous logistics of the next generation.

The solution was developed as part of the MODI project with co-financing from the European Union. AstaZero AB, a subsidiary of Sweden the RISE Research Institutes, participates in the initiative. The new system is responsible for automatically connecting/disconnecting the charging cable to the corresponding connector of the electric truck. The use of open standards ensures compatibility with multi-brand fleets in various sectors.

The technology, the developers argue, marks an important milestone towards a massive logistics transformation, making it safer and more sustainable. The automatic charging system will allow organizing the continuous and efficient operation of the fleet of self-driving electric trucks. At the same time, the charging speed will increase due to the abolition of manual operations and improved security. The solution includes the Rocsys Portal monitoring and management platform, which provides constant supervision and full control over the energy replenishment process. In general, the proposed system will facilitate the introduction of electrified vehicles for the transportation of goods.
