X5 has completely switched to electronic waybills

Customers: X5 Group

Moscow; Trade

Contractors: SKB Kontur
Product: Contour Logistics

Project date: 2024/08

X5 Group switched to the use of electronic consignment notes (ETrN), completing a pilot project to implement this solution. The transition to digital delivery notes covers the entire X5 Group network, including more than 25 thousand retail points and 63 distribution centers, which allows you to optimize the company's logistics processes and significantly reduce the risks associated with document management.

Work on the project began in October 2022, when X5 Group, already having successful experience in working with waybills in electronic form, decided to expand cooperation with the electronic document management provider Kontur. The main task was to adapt the Logistics service to the technical requirements of the X5 Group, while ensuring reliability and uninterrupted data transfer.

X5 switched to electronic waybills

Testing of the solution started in June 2024 and initially included a limited amount of documents. However, as representatives of X5 Group note, in just a month the volume of document flow increased 10 times, which indicates the high efficiency and flexibility of the new solution. During testing, it was possible to identify and eliminate potential problems associated with the interaction of information systems, which made it possible to successfully complete the project.

The format and rules for the exchange of electronic waybills are established by the Federal Tax Service and the Government of Russia, and Kontur, in turn, provided flexibility and automation of data transfer, which allowed X5 Group employees to continue working with transportation documents in the usual interfaces of internal information systems.

Alexey Serov, head of the Logistics service implementation group at Kontur, stressed that cooperation with X5 Group not only contributes to the development of electronic document management within the company, but also affects the entire industry. With the introduction of ETrN, suppliers, carriers and other counterparties will be able to adapt to new requirements faster, which will lead to simplification of workflow, reduce risks and save resources.
