Elektrokomplektservice was independently replaced by WMS

The Elektrokomplektservice company carried out independent transition to the new version of the warehouse management system Manhattan SCALE 2012, the company reported on May 30, 2013.

Background

In 2008, with the assistance of CORUS Consulting company, the project on system implementation of management of a warehouse on the basis of Manhattan ILS 2007 in the main distribution center Elektrokomplektservice, in Novosibirsk, ^{with a total area of 12 thousand sq.m} is implemented.

Then, during the project, the basic warehouse processes underwent automation: acceptance, placement, a complete set, offsetting and shipment of a cable, accounting of measured and weight goods is created, the selected warehouse of household lighting engineering for which the separate technology chain is implemented is entered into work, the additional functionality providing accounting of delivery of drums from the open area on offsetting section is configured. As a result the WMS system was integrated with the ERP system of own development that helped to avoid double entry of data and significantly reduced runtime of transactions.

Preparation

Within five years the company used the implemented version of the warehouse management system Manhattan ILS 2007. During this time the employees of IT department of the company taking active part in an implementation project of WMS "dopilit" a system, added new options of optimization of logistic processes.

"In 2007, making the decision on the beginning of the project on automation of work of a warehouse, we selected the warehouse management system Manhattan ILS 2007 on two basic reasons. The solutions Manhattan Associates in many respects advanced other WMS systems on functionality. As we selected a system with a view to further replication and independent completion of functionality, for us flexible opportunities of additional tuning and simplicity of technical support of a system served as extremely important factor. A system fully met the expectations assigned to it", - Alexey Zamoskovtsev, the project manager noted Elektrokomplektservice.

Job

In May, 2013 IT department Elektrokomplektservice independently, without involvement of third-party developers transferred the WMS system to the new version of the platform – Manhattan SCALE 2012.

In many respects it became possible thanks to simplicity and flexibility of setup of a system. However it is impossible to underestimate also merits of a project team, including, Alexey Zamoskovtsev who entered into project team of the customer in 2007-2008 and now became the main ideological inspirer and the conductor of knowledge. The project team Elektrokomplektservice accurately organized project process, planned terms and divided powers. Training of employees in work in a new system was Besides, competently organized: the implementation team prepared manuals and trained line managers who, in turn, provided training in the subordinates", - Alexander Trotsky, the head of logistics of CORUS Consulting Group emphasized.
