2019: Implementation of X4 AelotTMS

On September 30, 2019, Axelot announced that the AXELOT TMS X4 system introduced at Elkom-Electro helps to effectively plan delivery routes and manage multimodal transportation processes.

The company's management planned the introduction of modern TMS, which would increase the efficiency of route planning and optimize the work of logistics, and could also work in a single circuit with a corporate information system. The choice was based on the AXELOT TMS X4 solution, which met the company's requirements not only in terms of functionality, but also in terms of implementation speed and acceptable cost. The implementation of TMS was carried out by AXELOT specialists.

The transport management scheme of the project can be described as follows. For flight planning, Cargo Transportation Requests are loaded into the system, on the basis of which Transportation Tasks are formed. Several Transportation Assignments may be generated per application if delivery is via the terminals of the transport company.

Flights are planned both manually by the logist and automatically using the periodic flight mechanism. When planning flights, the system takes into account the time windows for cargo delivery, as well as the schedule for leaving the warehouse. Planning is carried out on its own vehicles and on an attracted fleet of third-party carriers.

Flight execution is monitored: based on the data received from TMS, information is exchanged with the CMS on the status of delivery of cargo to the consignee; Logists are notified of problems at the points of the route, delays to the consignee, changes in the order of bypass of points by the driver. The system also records transportation costs and monitors return documents.

The key objectives of the project to increase the efficiency of route planning and optimization of the work of logistics have been achieved. Thanks to automation, the company's cargo transportation volumes increased by 20%.

It is planned to develop the TMS system in terms of the implementation of vehicle management subsystems and mobile client. Also, in the future, the system will be replicated in other branches of the company.
