2025: Automation of Medical Clearance to Work
FESCO Transport Group has introduced automatic pre-shift inspection complexes for port workers. The modernization of the medical examination processes was carried out as part of the implementation of the digitalization program of the Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (VMTP, part of FESCO). The company announced this on October 15, 2025.
The installed equipment independently performs all the necessary measurements: checks the pressure and temperature, determines the well-being of a person using cameras with AI and machine vision, conducts an express breathalyst. The solution simplifies the work of the medical staff and speeds up the examination of employees - port workers enter their pass number, sit down to the device, follow simple instructions and, if everything is in order, immediately receive admission to work. The whole process takes from 40 seconds.
| Work on equipment is responsible work, therefore, VMTP pays great attention to mandatory pre-shift inspection. We not only accelerated it, but also made it truly technological. This eliminates the human factor and frees the medical staff from routine procedures. Automation provides paramedics with data in electronic form, which greatly simplifies their work and helps to monitor the health of port workers, - said Ivan Radchenko, Managing Director of VMTP. |
In addition to automated complexes, the health center of the port received equipment for working with the use of telemedicine. It allows therapists from medical institutions in the region to remotely make ECG ports, conduct specialized types of inspections and immediately issue recommendations and necessary directions.
Digitalization and introduction of technological innovations in various aspects of VMTP's activities are aimed at accelerating and increasing efficiency, electronic interaction with clients and government agencies. So, in September 2025, FESCO launched a portal inspection and inspection complex in the port at the sea checkpoint. The equipment, developed and produced completely on the domestic technological base, allows scanning containers in the stream and doubles the speed of actual customs control measures.
