On August 10, 2021, the Pyaterochka chain of stores announced the start of using a robot to check the layout of goods and price tags. The device was developed by the NGO Android Technique.
The robot independently builds a store map, autonomously moves between shelves, tours obstacles and guests, scans shelves. At the same time, goods and price tags are recognized on the shelves for comparison with the planogram for the lack of goods and the correctness of the price tags.
Electronics can fix vacant places, evaluate not only the layout of goods, but also analyze the entire depth of the shelf, check the presence of price tags and the correctness of the prices indicated on them. The robot quickly transmits all the information received to the server for further processing, after which the store employees receive a report on the identified inconsistencies for prompt elimination.
The robot for automating the control of the shipment of goods was introduced in one of the Pyaterochka stores in Kazan. Testing will take several months, after which the company will decide on the use of the robot in other stores of the network.
By August 10, 2021, some results of the pilot project are already known: the introduction of the complex allowed to reduce the load on staff and increase the speed of eliminating shortcomings in the layout. So, the robot performs inspections hourly and on-line sends information about the necessary adjustments for the response.
In the future, Pyaterochka is going to run in test mode in the store of a robot merchandiser who will be able to independently post goods on the shelves. Android Technology will complete the development of this machine in early 2022.
Earlier, Pyaterochka has already begun to use robotic solutions and artificial intelligence. So, the first store with a high degree of automation was opened - without sellers and cashiers.
