Flexible joints company – the wholesale supplier of the wide range of component parts for trucks of the Russian production. The company offers clients more than 3500 descriptions of goods.

The basic approach of Flexible joints company to business on sales of auto parts consists in providing modern services to the clients of a wide complex. The company management considers that further competitive advantage of the enterprise should consist in high quality of customer service, expansion of a range of services and reduction of prices of them due to implementation of advanced technologies of sales.

For this reason the Flexible joints company came to the decision to implement an integrated automated control system a trading activity and warehouse economy. By means of automation it was necessary to solve the following problems:

  • eliminate losses of goods, regrading, errors in work of personnel;
  • increase order picking speed in a warehouse;
  • simplify process of carrying out inventory, exclude need of a stop of a warehouse at recalculation;
  • simplify identification of goods at warehouse transactions;
  • reduce dead time on information exchange between office and a warehouse;
  • create the objective system of motivation of warehouse workers;
  • reduce time spent for training of new employees;
  • increase reliability of an information system;
  • have the ample analytical opportunities allowing to control goods turnover rate, * profitability of activities, efficiency of a sales and warehouse personnel.

The solution of the listed tasks required the modern powerful tool of automation including both the block of a trading activity, and possibility of an address warehouse.

The AXELOT company offered products on the 1C: Enterprise 8.0 platform. As the system of corporate accounting the solution was selected: 1C: Trade Management 8.0. For management of work of warehouse economy it was decided to use a joint product of 1C Company and AXELOT company "1C Logistics: Management of a warehouse".

As a result of project implementation the uniform information base including the trade block and control block a warehouse was created. 8 jobs were automated: managers, accountant, operator of a warehouse and system administrator.

The trade block of a system (Trade management configuration) was implemented practically without changes, in a standard type. Now order placement at office is automatically displayed in a warehouse, excepting repeated input and numerous personal contacts that allows to exclude transmission errors.

Implementation of control block a warehouse demanded from implementers of the solution of a number of specific tasks as:

  • the warehouse of the wholesale supplier represents the premises of 1200 sq.m.
  • among goods there are also tiny nuts which are stored in "personalized" cells and the huge springs from "KamAZ" placed on the open areas.

These factors defined the sequence of work of developers: first of all were developed topology of a warehouse and the rule of merchandising that allowed to organize address storage in warehouse economy of the company and to strictly define logic of placement practically of each unit of the nomenclature. Now employees of a warehouse during the work with goods strictly follow indications of a system that allows to know precisely in each timepoint a location of the required spare part.

The company management Flexible joints was initially configured on creation of a modern warehouse complex that meant implementation of technologies of barcoding and use of the appropriate technical means (data collection terminals, printers of labels and so forth). Algorithms of formation of an internal barcode, models of corporate labels were developed. Now each employee of a warehouse, each storage location is taken the personal barcode participating in warehouse transactions.

Then one of the main business processes of work of a warehouse – process of barcoding of goods was automated. Owing to the specifics (the spare part to the Russian trucks) practically all goods, with rare exception, arrive on a warehouse unmarked, in lubricating oil. The small goods often are accepted on weight. It is not possible to paste the label with a barcode on each unit often because of the sizes of commodity units and quality of their surfaces. Despite the specified difficulties, the simple and convenient solution allowing to identify easily and quickly a goods barcode during the work with it was thought up and implemented without pasting the label directly on each unit.

Implementation of technology of barcoding allowed to automate completely practically all warehouse transactions using data collection terminals. Among them:

  • the acceptance combined with placement;
  • internal transfers;
  • selection;
  • shipment;
  • inventory.

Now the main working tool of warehouse workers – the personal computer, the terminal scanner on which they receive all tasks automatically after order placement from office. Automation of a warehouse allowed to accelerate considerably all warehouse procedures and to reduce to a minimum emergence of errors at each stage of merchandising. Task performance speed increased, the quantity of the made mistakes decreased that increased performance of work of a warehouse and customer service.

The company management received the powerful management tool the company in general and warehouse personnel in particular. On the basis of information of a management system the rating system of assessment of work was implemented. As warehouse employees execute all transactions only with computers terminals, each employee has the rating. Always it is known what quantity of parts (piece) what it is powerful (kg) and with what speed (kg/min.) for the interesting period was shipped by the specific employee. On the basis of these data also the financial incentive of each employee is performed. This method led to the fact that service rate of clients increased approximately three times, and the number of personnel in a warehouse decreased by one and a half times.

The CEO of Flexible joints company A.A. Lapin so characterizes results of automation: "System implementation of automation gave to the company powerful competitive advantages: high speed and service quality of customers, lack of temporary losses in interaction of a warehouse and office, the accuracy of material resource accounting. The Flexible joints company in cooperation with AXELOT company took the next successful step to effective work".
